The Cilegon Immigration Office opened a passport processing service during the city’s Car Free Day (CFD) on Sunday (21/6/2026). The service, part of the PASPORIA (Paspor Minggu Ceria) programme, provides an alternative time for the public to handle passport matters on a holiday. The activity took place in the area of the Cilegon Immigration Office, which is located along the CFD route. In addition to immigration services, the public could also access free health check-ups provided in cooperation with the Cilegon Class IIA Prison and Cristal Optical. Head of the Cilegon Immigration Office, Aditya Triputranto, said that holding services on Sunday was intended to offer more flexible time options for people who cannot process their passports on working days. ‘We see very high enthusiasm from Cilegon residents every time CFD is held. Therefore, we proactively open our doors on Sunday. So, people can exercise while processing their passports,’ Aditya said in a press release on Sunday (21/6). According to Aditya, providing passport services in a public space is one way to expand public access to immigration services. He added that the health services available at the location could also be utilised by residents who are active in the CFD area. The health services provided included basic health checks and eye examinations. The presence of these services allows the public to obtain several public services in one location. Meanwhile, Head of the Immigration Traffic Section, Donny Prasetyo Utomo, explained that all stages of passport issuance are still carried out inside the Cilegon Immigration Office building to maintain service quality and applicant data security. ‘Because the CFD crowd point is right on the street in front of the office, we facilitate applicants to directly enter our passport service room inside the Cilegon Immigration Office building. We do this to ensure that the document checks, photo taking, interviews, and biometric data capture stages remain conducive, comfortable, and that the network system is stable,’ said Donny. He stated that the process of document checks, photo taking, interviews, and biometric recording is carried out according to applicable procedures. This step is also taken to ensure applicant comfort amidst the high level of public activity during CFD. The enthusiasm of residents using the passport service on a holiday shows the need for more flexible immigration services. Cilegon Immigration stated it will continue to evaluate the implementation of weekend services as an alternative service for the public.
