Cilegon Immigration Opens Passport Services During Car Free Day
The Cilegon Immigration Office opened passport processing services during the Cilegon City Car Free Day (CFD) on Sunday (21/06/2026). The service, held under the PASPORIA (Cheerful Sunday Passport) programme, provides an alternative time for the community to manage passport applications during the holidays.
The activity took place in the area of the Cilegon Immigration Office, which is situated along the CFD route. In addition to immigration services, members of the public could also take advantage of free health checks provided in collaboration with the Cilegon Class IIA Prison and Cristal Optical.
The Head of the Cilegon Immigration Office, Aditya Triputranto, stated that holding services on Sunday was intended to provide more flexible timing options for citizens who are unable to process passports on weekdays.
“We see very high enthusiasm from Cilegon residents every time CFD is held. Therefore, we are proactively opening our doors this Sunday. This way, the community can exercise while processing their passports,” Aditya said in a press release on Sunday (21/06/2026).
According to Aditya, providing passport services in public spaces is one way to expand community access to immigration services. He added that the health services available at the location could also be utilised by residents active in the CFD area.
The health services provided included basic health screenings and eye examinations. The presence of these services allows the public to access multiple public services in a single location.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Immigration Traffic Section, Donny Praselyo Utomo, explained that all stages of passport issuance are still carried out inside the Cilegon Immigration Office building to maintain service quality and applicant data security.
“Since the CFD crowd is located exactly on the road in front of the office, we are facilitating applicants to enter our passport service room directly inside the Cilegon Immigration Office building. We are doing this to ensure that the stages of document verification, photography, interviews, and biometric data collection remain conducive, comfortable, and supported by a stable network,” said Donny.
He noted that the process of document verification, photography, interviews, and biometric recording is conducted according to applicable procedures. This step is also taken to ensure applicant comfort amidst the high level of public activity during the CFD.
The enthusiasm of residents utilising passport services on the holiday demonstrates the need for more flexible immigration services. Cilegon Immigration stated that they will continue to evaluate the implementation of weekend services as an alternative service option for the community.
