Cilegon City Government Hosts "Riung Mungpulung" for 27th Anniversary

Serang (ANTARA) - The Cilegon City Government in Banten held “Riung Mungpulung” on the occasion of the city’s 27th anniversary at the Mayor’s Office courtyard on Monday, combined with the presentation of awards and the handover of various aid packages. Mayor Robinsar, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Fajar Hadi Prabowo, invited all elements of society to use the 27th anniversary momentum as an opportunity for reflection on the contributions made towards the region’s progress. He also emphasised that the anniversary commemoration is not merely a ceremony, but a means of evaluating achievements and development efforts that have been undertaken. “Of course, this 27th anniversary is not just for celebration but must serve as a reflection for us on what we have done and what we have given for this beloved city. May at the age of 27, Cilegon City advance further and bring greater prosperity to the community,” he stated. Furthermore, Robinsar expressed appreciation for the presence of invited guests and the support from various parties that have contributed to Cilegon City’s development. “Thank you to all the invited guests who have kindly attended and joined this agenda to commemorate Cilegon City’s anniversary,” he explained. Robinsar stated that collaboration between the government, society, the industrial sector, and stakeholders is the main key in driving regional progress. “This city has given much to us. Now, it depends on how we think about what we have contributed to Cilegon City. Therefore, I hope that our collaboration can continue to be strengthened for Cilegon City’s future progress,” he said. On that occasion, Robinsar also revealed that at the beginning of his leadership term, there were various challenges faced, one of which was related to the regional fiscal condition. “At the start of our tenure, there was a budget deficit of Rp135 billion that we had to resolve immediately, and Alhamdulillah, thanks to cooperation from all regional apparatus, the financial condition was successfully managed so that there will be no budget deficit at the beginning of 2026,” he added. In addition, Robinsar stated that in 2026, the Cilegon City Government is facing a central government budget efficiency policy that impacts a reduction in transfer funds to the region by Rp235 billion. In response to this, Robinsar stressed the importance of innovation and creativity from regional apparatus in exploring new revenue sources, including through the optimisation of Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD). “This year 2026, transfer funds from the central government to the region are cut by Rp235 billion. This is a significant figure and a challenge for us all. Therefore, I ask the regional apparatus to innovate in exploring potentials that can increase our Regional Original Revenue (PAD), including through BUMD optimisation,” he revealed. Meanwhile, Representative of Cilegon City Community Figure Habibudin also expressed appreciation for the Mayor of Cilegon’s leadership on the occasion of the city’s 27th anniversary. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD), particularly PT Pelabuhan Cilegon Mandiri (PCM), which is considered to have great potential in increasing regional revenue. “PCM is extraordinary and a shared pride. In the future, its development must continue to be promoted to provide maximum benefits for the region,” he stated. Habibudin hopes that the current leadership of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Cilegon can bring the city to greater advancement and development. “Congratulations to Mr Mayor and Mr Deputy Mayor. May this young generation’s leadership bring Cilegon to be better and greater in the future,” he concluded.
