Land on both sides of the Ciledug Raya road in Tangerang is
becoming more attractive to people with money. More housing
complexes are being built in the area. One, for example, is the
residential area developed by PT Bintaro Property Jaya, adjacent
to the British School, in the vicinity of Pondok Aren village.

Regent of Tangerang Syaifulah had stated the Ciledug Raya road
at the Pondok Aren section will be broadened and the District
Administration Office, presently located at Pondok Aren, will
thereby have to be relocated.

The road that links the Pondok Aren and Perigi villages to
Serpong Damai is also to be upgraded.

Bintaro Jaya reportedly will build a mall in Pondok Aren, one
bigger than Pondok Indah Mall in South Jakarta.

Indeed Tangerang regency is growing fast with the sprouting up
of residential complexes and industrial plants in the region. The
local population is also increasing.

Real estate development in Pondok Aren will benefit the local
people, especially the poor, as the price of their land will
increase, bringing the promise of better welfare.
