Cilacap Regent to Distribute Holiday Allowances to Regional Leadership Forum from Extortion Proceeds, Police Chief's Name Mentioned

The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) stated that Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman planned to distribute holiday allowances (THR) to the regional leadership coordination forum (forkopimda) ranging from Rp20-100 million from extortion proceeds.

“Some are Rp100 million, Rp50 million, and so on. So each forkopimda member receives different amounts; there are even some receiving Rp20 million,” said Asep Guntur Rahayu, KPK Deputy for Prosecution and Execution, at KPK headquarters in Jakarta on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, Asep stated that the extortion proceeds totalling approximately Rp610 million were placed in six white gift bags. “There were six goodie bags in total,” he said.

One member of the regional leadership forum set to receive the holiday allowance is the Cilacap Police Chief, Brigadier Budi Adhy Buono.

“One of the forkopimda members is the Police Chief in Cilacap,” said Asep Guntur Rahayu.

As a result, Asep stated that the KPK decided to interrogate 27 people arrested in a raid in Banyumas District, Central Java.

“For this reason, we did not conduct interrogations at Cilacap Police Station to avoid conflicts of interest. We relocated the operation to Banyumas,” he said.
