Cilacap Regent Planned to Distribute Rp 20-100 Million Holiday Allowances to Forkopimda After Extortion Scheme

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman, after conducting extortion and receiving the proceeds, planned to distribute holiday allowances (THR) to the regional leadership coordination forum (forkopimda) ranging from Rp 20 million to Rp 100 million.

“Some would receive Rp 100 million, Rp 50 million and so on. Each forkopimda member would receive different amounts, with some receiving as little as Rp 20 million,” said KPK Deputy for Prosecution and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Saturday evening, 14 March 2026.

Asep further stated that the extortion proceeds, totalling approximately Rp 610 million, were placed in six white gift bags.

“There were six gift bags in total,” he said.

On 13 March 2026, the KPK announced its ninth operation this year and the third during Ramadan. The sting operation arrested Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman and 26 others, seizing cash in rupiah.

On 14 March 2026, the KPK designated Syamsul Auliya Rachman (AUL) and Cilacap Regional Secretary Sadmoko Danardoo (SAD) as suspects in an alleged extortion and unauthorised acceptance case within Cilacap Regency Government, Central Java, for the 2025-2026 financial year.

Syamsul Auliya had targeted obtaining Rp 750 million from the extortion scheme, with Rp 515 million allocated for Holiday Allowances (THR) for the Cilacap Regency Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), and the remainder for personal use. However, he had only collected Rp 610 million before being arrested by the KPK.
