Cilacap Regent Arrested in Anti-Corruption Operation Involving Project Fees
The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has disclosed a sting operation (OTT) that has ensnared Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman over allegations of receiving project fees in Cilacap Regency.
“Concerning alleged projects in Cilacap Regency,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists at the KPK’s Red and White Building on Friday (13 March).
Budi revealed that 27 people, including Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman, have been arrested in this operation.
“It is true that today the KPK conducted a closed investigation operation in Cilacap Regency. The team secured 27 individuals today, one of whom is the Cilacap Regent,” said Budi.
Budi also disclosed that the 27 people comprise state officials, civil servants, and possibly some individuals from the private sector.
The KPK has launched another sting operation with the arrest of Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman. This was confirmed by KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto.
“Confirmed,” said Fitroh briefly when asked about the Cilacap Regent’s arrest.
The KPK has a period of 24 hours to determine the legal status of those apprehended in the operation.
