Jakarta — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has uncovered allegations of extortion committed by Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman against local government units (SKPDs) within Cilacap Regency’s administration.

In this case, each SKPD was reportedly asked to deposit holiday allowance (THR) funds amounting to IDR 75 million to IDR 100 million.

“Cilacap Regency itself has 25 regional devices, 2 district general hospitals, and 20 primary health centres. Initially, each working unit was targeted to deposit IDR 75–100 million,” said KPK Deputy for Prosecution and Execution, Asep Guntur Rahayu during a press conference at the KPK Red and White Building on Saturday (14 March 2026).

Syamsul allegedly set a target for the fund collection to be completed by 13 March 2026.

“Subsequently, during the period of 9–13 March 2025, twenty-three regional devices in Cilacap Regency deposited funds in response to the regent’s request, which were collected through Ferry Adhi Dharma, the regent’s Assistant II, with a total reaching IDR 610 million,” Asep continued.

However, in practice, not all SKPDs were able to meet the deposit targets. The funds surrendered varied, ranging from IDR 3 million to IDR 100 million per SKPD.

The KPK also suspects that some of the funds collected from the SKPDs were not only intended for providing holiday allowances to senior officials, but also to meet Syamsul’s personal needs.

In this case, the KPK has named two suspects: Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman and Cilacap Regional Secretary (Sekda) Sadmoko Danardono. Both were immediately detained at the KPK detention facility for an initial detention period of 20 days.
