Cilacap Official Caught in KPK Sting Operation: Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a sting operation (operasi tangkap tangan) in Cilacap, Central Java. The KPK confirmed that Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman was among those arrested.

“Correct,” said KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto when asked whether Cilacap Regent was indeed caught in the sting operation on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Fitroh did not provide details on the identities of all those arrested in the operation. He also did not disclose the specific allegations being investigated.

The KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of those arrested. Currently, those detained in the sting operation remain under investigation (terperiksa).
