A contraflow system has been implemented on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road this morning to alleviate congestion resulting from ongoing road maintenance works. The traffic management measure covers a 5-kilometre stretch from Km 23 to Km 28 heading towards Cikampek.

The contraflow was activated at 07:19 WIB under the discretion of the police and remains in effect to reduce traffic density.

Pgs Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Dary Achmad Budi, stated that the contraflow was introduced to mitigate the impact of the maintenance work currently underway on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.

“The implementation of the contraflow from Km 23 to Km 28 towards Cikampek is carried out situationally based on police discretion and on-site traffic conditions,” Dary said in a written statement to journalists on Tuesday.

“This traffic engineering is enforced as an effort to maintain smooth travel for road users amidst the execution of road maintenance works, while ensuring safety and comfort aspects are upheld when traversing the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road,” Dary continued.

PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, as the operator, extended its apologies for the inconvenience caused to motorists during the roadworks. “JTT also appreciates the patience and understanding of road users, and urges them to continue prioritising safety, anticipate their journeys, obey traffic signs, and follow the directions of officers in the field,” he concluded.
