Jasa Marga has opened 19 booths at Cikampek North Tollgate in Karawang Regency, West Java, to anticipate the surge in vehicle volume during the 2026 Lebaran exodus.

“Cikampek North Tollgate, which normally operates 15 booths, has now been increased to 19 booths, focusing on serving vehicles travelling from Jakarta towards the eastern direction on Trans-Java,” said Vice President Corporate Secretary and Legal of PT Jasa Marga Trans Jawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paalo, speaking to journalists in Cikampek on Saturday.

Ria noted that an increase in vehicle volume has been apparent since 11 March 2026, though not yet particularly significant.

“From 11 to 13 March, our calculations indicate approximately 108,000 vehicles have passed through Cikampek North Tollgate travelling from Jakarta towards the eastern direction on Trans-Java. There is indeed a fairly substantial increase visible,” she stated.

Nevertheless, Ria said that the increase in vehicle volume has not yet been accompanied by traffic engineering measures.

“Neither one-way nor contraflow. For now there are no traffic engineering measures at all, as all vehicle increases can still be adequately managed,” she explained.

Therefore, the opening of 19 booths at Cikampek North Tollgate is deemed sufficient to address the current increase in vehicle volume.

Observations by ANTARA at Cikampek North Tollgate early Sunday morning at 00:40 WIB showed vehicle traffic moving smoothly and briskly. There was virtually no congestion at any of the booths.
