In the future, Cicaheum Terminal will function as a BRT depot to support mass transportation operations.

Bandung (ANTARA) - The management of Cicaheum Type A Terminal in Bandung, West Java, has begun gradually redirecting intercity interprovincial (AKAP) and intercity within province (AKDP) bus routes to Leuwipanjang Terminal.

Head of Cicaheum Terminal Asep Supriadi stated that this redirection is part of the Greater Bandung Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) programme planned by the government.

“Some have already shifted, such as Sugeng Rahayu, Budiman, Eka, Gunung Harta, and Sinar Jaya. However, not all yet,” Asep said in Bandung on Thursday.

According to him, the management fully supports the policy as an effort to reorganise transportation in Bandung City.

Asep added that in the future, Cicaheum Terminal will function as a BRT depot to support mass transportation operations.

He hopes that the presence of BRT can reduce congestion and lower air pollution levels in Bandung City.

“Hopefully, the public can switch from private vehicles to mass transport,” he said.

Nevertheless, operations at Cicaheum Terminal are currently running normally while awaiting official socialisation from the local government.

“At present, out of a total of 36 available routes, only some have begun to be redirected to Leuwipanjang Terminal,” he said.
