Cibubur car attacker briefly threatened to shoot, turns out to be only a bluff

Well, that was just a bluff, just a bluff. There was no firearm. said Police Commissioner Aulia Robby, head of Gunung Putri Police Sector, on Thursday 21 May 2026.

It is not yet known whether, at the time of the incident, the suspect was under the influence of alcohol. Robby said a urine test would be conducted on the suspect to determine whether the suspect had also consumed narcotics or not.

The urine test has not yet been conducted but will be carried out promptly. It cannot yet be confirmed whether he was intoxicated; the test will be conducted after this, he clarified.

Earlier, two car drivers were involved in a quarrel which ended in a beating and damage on Jalan Alternatif Cibubur-Cileungsi, Gunungputri, Bogor Regency. In addition to beating, the suspect also threatened to shoot the victim.

Then the suspect told the complainant, ‘I’m going to shoot you! Do you want me to shoot you?’ and the suspect also said, ‘I’m carrying a baby!’, said Kompol Aulia, paraphrasing the suspect’s words, Monday 18 May.

After these events and not wanting things to get worse, the complainant continued on his way home, Robby said.

Before the altercation ended in a beating and the suspect stated he would shoot the victim, Robby said, the victim briefly sounded the horn at the other driver, who was also driving a car. At that time, the victim continued on his way.

It appeared that one vehicle exited Jalan Masjid At Taqwa onto Jalan Alternatif Cibubur, moved into the middle lane and the complainant was startled. (Then) the complainant sounded the horn once. However, because nothing happened, the complainant continued on his way, Robby added.
