Cibis Park Celebrates Jakarta's 499th Anniversary with 2026 Music Event
Cibis Park participated in celebrating the 499th anniversary of the City of Jakarta by holding the ‘Gelaran Musik Jakarta 2026’ event on Monday, 22 June 2026. The event featured a collaboration of modern jazz music with traditional Betawi songs as a tribute to the capital’s cultural identity.
The activity, which took place in The Terrace area of Cibis Park, South Jakarta, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, was part of Cibis Park’s efforts to support Jakarta as a creative, humanist city that remains rooted in local culture.
President Director of PT Bhumyamca Sekawan (Cibis Park), Achmad Umar, officially opened the event with a symbolic drumming ceremony. According to him, the celebration not only served as entertainment for tenants and the community within the Cibis Park environment but also provided a space for artistic and cultural collaboration amidst Jakarta’s urban life.
‘Jakarta is a city that grows from cultural diversity and the creativity of its people. Cibis Park wants to be part of Jakarta’s journey towards five centuries by presenting a space that not only supports business activities but also provides humanistic, artistic, and cultural value,’ said Achmad Umar.
Carrying the theme ‘Jakarta Menuju 5 Abad’ (Jakarta Towards 5 Centuries), the music event featured a number of musicians and jazz communities closely associated with Jakarta, including Cinere Jazz Society, Sudut Ruang Jazz, The Jakarta Happy Voice, Kirana, Rio Moreno, Happy Pretty, Neea Rachma, Andrea Ratu, and B’tari Chinta.
Chairman of the Cinere Jazz Society and initiator of the event, Agus Takari, stated that the collaboration between jazz and Betawi-style music represents a love for Jakarta as well as an effort to keep local culture relevant amidst changing times.
‘Jazz is a universal language capable of uniting different generations and backgrounds. We are proud to collaborate with Cibis Park to present a music celebration that blends jazz with Betawi nuances,’ he said.
Through this activity, Cibis Park also reaffirmed its commitment to becoming a creative space and a centre for artistic collaboration that supports the growth of the music ecosystem in Jakarta. The mixed-use business park strives to provide a stage for musicians, communities, and creative talents to continue working and to broaden appreciation for local music.
Looking ahead, Cibis Park hopes to contribute to strengthening Jakarta’s position as a global city that maintains its local cultural identity, while encouraging the emergence of more musical talents capable of competing at both national and international levels.
