Cibinong's exports rises

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed PT Semen Cibinong said yesterday
that its exports in the first five months of this year had
increased while its domestic sales dropped 33 percent.

The company said its exports of cement and clinker from
January through May were 505,000 metric tons, compared to 89,000
tons in the whole of 1997.

Domestic sales of ready-mix concrete declined at an even
faster pace than that of cement -- more than 50 percent in the
first quarter of this year -- due to the decline in property
development, it said. (das/alx)
