Cianjur Regency Government Considers Regional Loan to Accelerate Infrastructure

The Cianjur Regency Government in West Java is currently reviewing a proposal to borrow funds from a banking institution. This strategic move is being considered as a solution amidst the region’s currently limited financial condition. Cianjur Regent Mohammad Wahyu Ferdian revealed that the regional loan option is a rational way out to ensure the development agenda continues. According to him, the proposal is legally sound under existing regulations and is under serious consideration by the local government. Wahyu emphasised that the main objective of this loan proposal is to accelerate development in the Cianjur Regency area. The current regional budget limitations pose a challenge in meeting urgent development needs. “Of course, we want to accelerate development in Cianjur Regency. We will consider this option (regional loan),” Wahyu said on Sunday (9/8). If this plan is realised, the Cianjur Regency Government has mapped out priority sectors to be funded. The main focus of the loan funds is the infrastructure sector, particularly the repair and construction of roads, which are a vital need for the community. Although this proposal has begun to be discussed, Regent Wahyu stated that his administration has not yet determined the amount of the loan to be submitted to the bank. Currently, the technical team is conducting an in-depth study to align the loan value with the region’s fiscal capacity and real needs on the ground. “Of course, this loan is not arbitrary; it will be utilised for the community. Primarily for infrastructure, including other programmes that are directly felt by the public,” Wahyu stressed. The regional government ensures that every financial policy step will be taken carefully and measurably. “We are considering it. It will be adjusted according to needs,” he concluded.
