Cianjur Police Uncover 14.8 Kg Marijuana Distribution, Two Suspects Arrested

Personnel from the Cianjur Police Narcotics Unit and West Java Police raided a house in Longkewang, Gasol Village, Cugenang District, uncovering over a dozen kilogrammes of dried marijuana ready for distribution and arresting the perpetrators. The case came to light following a tip-off from residents who were suspicious of activities at the house, which was frequently visited by unknown individuals. Police immediately launched an investigation, which led to the discovery of dried cannabis abuse and the arrest of a suspect with the initials DN. During a search of the house, officers found a plastic basket containing a backpack filled with dried marijuana, a plastic bag of dried marijuana, a cloth bag of dried marijuana, and 75 clear plastic packages each containing dried marijuana. EM claimed the goods belonged to FL and GH, who are now being pursued by police. In total, officers seized 14.819 kilogrammes of marijuana, packaged into 80 medium packs, 10 large packs, 4 medium packs, 4 small packs, and 1 small pack. The estimated value of the drugs is around Rp600 million, and the seizure is believed to have saved 30,000 people from drug abuse. We are still pursuing approximately 15 kilogrammes of marijuana as additional evidence, Alexander added. The suspects DN and EM are charged under Article 111 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, and face a minimum sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 12 years, or life imprisonment.
