Entering H-3 before Eid, the volume of homecoming vehicles continues to rise, mixing with locals heading to protocol routes for Eid shopping, resulting in queues at several points.

Cianjur (ANTARA) - The Cianjur Resort Police in West Java predict the peak homecoming flow will occur on H-2 before Eid, thus implementing various traffic engineering measures, including directing homecomers to alternative routes in Sukabumi and Jonggol, to anticipate congestion on the main route.

The Cianjur Police Traffic Unit Head, AKP Aang Andi Suhandi, in Cianjur on Wednesday (18/3), stated that the volume of homecoming vehicles passing through the main Cianjur route has increased by around 25 percent, heading to various districts/cities in West Java up to Central Java.

Therefore, various efforts are being made to anticipate vehicle queues amid the high volume of homecoming traffic, especially at congestion-prone points such as Puncak-Cianjur, the Bandung-Cianjur route, the Sukabumi-Cianjur route, and the southern route.

Queue dispersal teams are also placed at several points, particularly within Cianjur city, while on the main Cianjur route, although there is an increase in flow, it does not cause significant queues.

Vehicle traffic is still able to pass normally, only at several points the vehicle speed is slightly impeded, such as in front of Cipanas Market, Gentur Lamp Post Monument, Ciranjang Market, Warungkondang Market, and Gekbrong Market.

He urged drivers to continue obeying traffic rules and instructions from officers to ensure safety and comfort during the journey until they safely reach their hometowns. It is better to stop when tired at several rest areas available along the homecoming route.

“We urge long-distance drivers to rest at the available rest areas, including at the service posts built on the Bandung-Cianjur route and the Puncak-Cipanas route,” he said.
