Cianjur Police Implement One-Way System on Puncak Route to Ease Traffic Congestion

Cianjur Police Resort in West Java implemented a one-way system on the Puncak route towards Jakarta on Monday, 1 June at 13:55 WIB to alleviate traffic congestion during the extended holiday period.

Acting Traffic Police Chief of Cianjur, Commissioner Aang Andi Suhandi, stated that vehicle volumes on Monday were relatively lighter compared to Sunday (31 May), but the one-way system remained in place to ensure orderly traffic flow.

“We followed the approach taken by Bogor Police. Around 13:55 WIB, we implemented one-way traffic from Puncak towards Jakarta. Alhamdulillah, the vehicle volume is relatively normal compared to yesterday,” Aang said on Monday.

The vehicles on the Puncak Cianjur route were predominantly tourists concluding their extended weekend holiday. “Mostly tourists,” he added.

On Sunday (31 May), Cianjur Police diverted traffic via alternative routes through Jonggol and Sukabumi due to congestion from Puncak to Jakarta.

“The queue of vehicles even extended into the jurisdiction of Cianjur Police Resort,” Aang explained.

Aang urged drivers heading to Jakarta to use the prepared alternative routes to avoid prolonged traffic jams on the main Puncak route. (H-2)

Cianjur Police Resort facilitated the needs of 73 Hajj pilgrims departing this year to the Holy Land.

This year, Cianjur Regency’s Hajj quota is 73 pilgrims plus three Hajj officers, totalling 76 individuals.

Cianjur Police coordinates with Bogor Police to manage traffic conditions, particularly during the one-way system implementation.

Vehicle volumes have increased not only from Jakarta to Puncak Bogor and Cianjur, but also from Cianjur towards Puncak or Jakarta.
