Cianjur Hajj Ministry: Hajj pilgrims to be farewelled from district police headquarters
Cianjur (ANTARA) - The Cianjur District Hajj Ministry in West Java has confirmed the departure of 73 prospective Hajj pilgrims from Cianjur, grouped in batch JKS 24, who will be farewelled from the Cianjur Police Resort headquarters on Sunday (17/5).
The Head of General Administration for the Hajj and Umrah Ministry in Cianjur, Emma Siti Fatimah, stated in Cianjur on Thursday that the pilgrims are required to be at the Cianjur Police Resort by Saturday (16/5) evening, or one day before departure.
The pilgrims will undergo quarantine starting at 21:00 WIB, so after that time, no family visits are allowed to allow the pilgrims to rest more comfortably before heading to Bekasi.
“On Sunday morning, the group will be farewelled after performing congregational Subuh prayers or around 04:00 WIB, the group will already depart for Bekasi,” she said.
“Cross-sectoral collaboration in this year’s Hajj organisation is hoped to provide greater comfort for pilgrims from Cianjur, especially the elderly and those with special needs,” she added.
Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Alexander Yurikho Hadi stated that his side took the initiative to provide departure facilities as well as services for the 73 prospective Hajj pilgrims who will depart, marking the first time in the history of Hajj departures in Cianjur.
Usually, the departure of Hajj pilgrims from Cianjur is centred at the courtyard of the Cianjur District Ministry of Religious Affairs office, but this year is different, with the group to be farewelled from the courtyard of the Cianjur Police Resort.
“The Cianjur Police Resort becomes the Hajj pilgrims’ departure point; this may be the first time in West Java and Indonesia, where this step is taken as a form of service to the community from various backgrounds,” he said.
The departure of the prospective Hajj pilgrims is scheduled for Sunday (17/5) with a series of activities starting with congregational Subuh prayers at the At-Taqwa Mosque in the Cianjur Police Resort headquarters complex, followed by the farewell ceremonial process.
His side also provides free accommodation for the prospective pilgrims two days before departure, including various supporting facilities such as meals and other needs, including free health checks.
“Including escorts from departure until return, which will be carried out by the police, so that prospective pilgrims receive prime service from the police,” he said.
