Cianjur Environmental Agency Intensifies Outreach on Standard Wastewater Treatment for Nutrition Service Units
Cianjur (ANTARA) - The Cianjur Regency Environmental Agency (DLH) in West Java is intensifying outreach regarding standard Wastewater Treatment Installations (IPAL) for Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG). The Head of the Pollution Control and Environmental Damage Division (PPKL) of DLH Cianjur, Evi Hidayah, in Cianjur on Monday, stated that they are accelerating outreach by involving officers in every sub-district to ensure all SPPG units have standard IPAL, primarily capable of processing kitchen waste. They hope that sub-district heads in each area will cooperate to confirm that every SPPG has IPAL in accordance with applicable provisions and regulations, as they have not yet been able to inventory the number of SPPG with IPAL. To date, she revealed, out of 307 SPPG in Cianjur, they have only inspected IPAL in Pagelaran and Karangtengah sub-districts, where SPPG units submitted requests through the sub-district heads in both areas. Inspections cover mandatory compliance with food safety technical standards and environmental management, ability to process liquid kitchen waste such as oil and fat, and adherence to Ministerial Decree of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLH) No. 2760 of 2025 to obtain a Hygiene and Sanitation Fitness Certificate. However, several SPPG units that have been inspected do not yet meet the standards in accordance with applicable provisions and regulations, and some still dispose of waste into rivers. “So far, in inspecting IPAL at each SPPG, we refer to the regulation of Ministerial Decree LH/BPLH 2760 of 2025,” she said. Moreover, the authority for inspections remains unclear to date, so they are awaiting requests from SPPG to verify whether the IPAL they have meets standards or not, including compliance with applicable provisions and regulations. “We are waiting for requests in nature because we are still confused about the inspection authority, especially since the Free Nutritious Meals programme is a national programme,” she said.
