Church thief gets five months
BOGOR (JP): Bogor District Court sentenced Saih bin Naih, 48, to five months in prison on Tuesday for stealing an electronic keyboard and a set of amplifiers from the Sidang Jemaat Allah church on Jl. Semboja last August.
"The defendant entered the church in the wee hours of Aug. 7 and broke the gate," presiding Judge Martini said.
Saih, who once worked for the church for three months, knew the exact location of the valuables, Martini said. Saih was found guilty under Article 363 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum of nine years in prison.
Saih's accomplice Nano reportedly escaped with the stolen goods, which cost the church Rp 10 million. (24/edt)
