Chuan's son longing for Games

BANGKOK (Reuters): Asian Games fever struck at the height of
Thai politics on Tuesday as 11-year-old Surabot Leekpai invaded
the prime minister's office and demanded to be taken to see some
of the events as a birthday present.

Surabot, son of Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai, who is busy
trying to dig Thailand out of economic recession, said his father
had not so far found the time to take him to watch the 36-sport
Games which began on Sunday and end on Dec. 20.

"I want to see the Games but no one has time to take me there.
Today is my birthday and the present I want most is for my father
to take me to the Games," Surabot told Reuters.

Chuan had promised to do his best to find the time for a visit to
one or two of the Games venues for his son's birthday, Surabot
said.

The boy said he was especially fond of gymnastics, soccer and
swimming.
