Chronology of Woman's Body Discovery in Depok, Found Covered by Clothes and Sprinkled with Coffee Powder

DEPOK — The body of a woman identified as DH (56) was discovered in her bedroom in Meruyung, Limo, Depok on Saturday morning, 7 March 2026.

The discovery began when DH’s son, identified as L, and his partner R visited to clean the victim’s house, which was in a dilapidated condition, on Friday 6 March 2026 at 11.00 PM. DH was said to have travelled to her friend’s house in Sukabumi, West Java, since February 2026.

L and R stayed overnight in the living room and began cleaning on Saturday morning. R was attempting to tidy up scattered clothing piled on the floor to place into plastic bags.

“When R lifted the carpet covering the pile of clothing, he saw a pair of human legs with skeletal remains visible and desiccated skin,” said Cinere Police Chief Kompol Chairul Shaleh when contacted on Monday, 9 March 2026.

Additionally, coffee powder was found scattered around the victim’s body.

“Following identification verification, coffee powder was found scattered on the victim’s remains,” he stated.

Chairul reported that L and R had visited DH’s house in February 2026. During that visit, they found the house gate firmly locked with a padlock, though the front door was unlocked.

“The witnesses also did not smell any unusual odours from within the room. Seeing the interior of the house in disarray, L and R postponed cleaning the interior and only cleaned the yard area,” Chairul explained.

Based on crime scene investigation findings, several of the victim’s belongings were found missing, including one Suzuki Adres motorcycle unit, the motorcycle key, vehicle registration documents, and one mobile phone.

Police investigation also revealed that the victim previously lived with an unregistered husband. The two reportedly had a history of domestic arguments.

Police are currently examining witnesses and conducting an autopsy at Kramat Jati Hospital.
