Chronology of Wife Killing Husband in Tangerang, Starting from Argument over Clothing
TANGERANG — A man identified as J was found dead in his home in the Kapling Pinang area, Tigaraksa District, Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Thursday (5 March 2026) evening.
The victim is believed to have died after being killed by his second wife, identified as EM, following a quarrel inside the house.
Tangerang Police Chief Andi Muhammad Indra Waspada Amirullah stated that the incident began when the victim arrived home at approximately 18:00 (6:00 p.m.). At that time, the victim had just finished bathing and saw his wife and mother-in-law preparing to perform prayers.
According to Indra, the victim’s anger triggered a quarrel between the victim, the perpetrator, and other residents of the house. The argument intensified when the victim expressed his intention to marry again.
This statement provoked strong emotions within the household, causing the situation to spiral out of control. In his anger, the victim damaged a glass cupboard in the bedroom.
Witnessing the situation, the perpetrator allegedly panicked and retrieved a machete from inside the cupboard. She then swung the machete at the victim several times until he became defenceless in the bedroom.
“The victim is believed to have died some time later inside the bedroom of the house,” said Indra.
“Currently, investigators are conducting further investigation and interrogation,” he added. Investigations are ongoing.
