Chronology of Viral Incident Involving 'RI 21' Escort, Allegedly Cutting Queue and Scolding Driver Before Apologising
A motorist named Zilly Larasati shared an unpleasant incident she experienced on Jalan Pintu Satu Senayan, Central Jakarta. The incident began while she was driving and queuing to make a turn. Suddenly, her car was cut off by a patrol and escort officer on a motorbike accompanying an official car with the registration plate RI 21. “Chronology: I had been queuing for quite a while at the junction. In front of me was my friend’s car, which was also queuing. Just before my turn, I saw the escort motorbike from the right, still very far away, and the distance between it and the RI 21 car was close. So I thought it was my turn, because I was already in a turning position with half the car’s body, when suddenly I was cut off by this escort motorbike and scolded by the police officer,” read a statement from the account owner on Thursday, 2 July 2026. She also mentioned being reprimanded in a harsh tone by the escorting officer. “Even though it was his fault for suddenly speeding at the junction. I actually didn’t want to make a fuss, but after thinking about it, why was I the one being scolded when he was at fault, and he deliberately cut me off and told me to stop when it was impossible to stop while driving,” she wrote. In the post, Zilly also shared a video of herself getting out of her car and approaching the officer. Zilly then firmly reprimanded the escort officer and told him not to act arbitrarily on the road. “Your escorting is not right. Sir, next time don’t do that, I was already queuing. Sir, don’t just act like that. Don’t just because you’re escorting RI 21. You should have braked, I was there first, I was queuing. You should have known from afar, you were speeding, I was going slow, sir. Don’t be arbitrary with the public, sir. Escorting RI 21, whoever that is, let’s just make it viral, guys. He scolded me, but when it went viral, he went quiet,” said the account owner. After the incident went viral, the escort officer appeared to send a direct message apology to Zilly. The officer, known as Dimas, admitted he was wrong for his unpleasant actions towards the motorist.
