Chronology of Truck Struck by Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train and Dragged 100 Metres

A trailer truck was struck by the Soekarno-Hatta Airport train as it passed through a level crossing at Poris Station, Batuceper, Tangerang City. The incident resulted in the truck being dragged approximately 100 metres along the tracks.

Tangerang City Metropolitan Police Chief Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari explained that the accident occurred at around 06.05 Western Indonesian Time on Friday morning. It began when the trailer truck was travelling from Cipondoh towards Daan Mogot.

“As the railway crossing barriers were operating, the vehicle entered the railway tracks. The truck cab had already cleared the rails, but the container body was still on the crossing,” Jauhari told reporters on Friday (20 February 2026).

Jauhari said the incident caused the trailer truck to be dragged several metres from its initial position at the crossing.

“It was dragged roughly 100 metres from the railway crossing,” he added.

Evacuation of Train and Truck

The evacuation of the train and the truck involved in the accident is currently still under way. The operation is being carried out by a joint team comprising KAI (Indonesian Railways), Tangerang City Metropolitan Police and the Tangerang City Transport Agency (Dishub).

“We are currently evacuating the railway line so that we can clear the tracks and allow services to resume,” he said.

As a result of the accident, traffic around Poris Station has become heavily congested. Tangerang City Metropolitan Police have implemented traffic diversions around the scene.

The following traffic diversion routes have been put in place:

From Jakarta (Jl. Daan Mogot) towards Cipondoh: diverted at the Ampera T-junction, directed via Jl. Jenderal Sudirman towards Jl. KH Hasyim Ashari.

From Cipondoh (Jl. KH Hasyim Ashari) towards Daan Mogot: diverted via Jl. Benteng Betawi towards Jl. Jenderal Sudirman.

From Jl. Benteng Betawi towards Jakarta: diverted via Jl. KH Hasyim Ashari, Gondrong traffic lights, Jl. H. Mansyur, and Jl. KH Ahmad Dahlan.
