Chronology of TransJakarta Bus Crashing into Busway Separator on MT Haryono, Driver Injured
Police have explained the chronology of a TransJakarta bus crashing into a busway separator at the Cikoko bus stop on Jalan MT Haryono, East Jakarta. The accident began when the vehicle was travelling from east to west. “Upon arriving at the scene in front of Menara Hijau Cikoko, it is suspected that due to a lack of caution and concentration, the vehicle crashed into the busway separator,” said AKBP Ojo Ruslani, Head of the Traffic Law Enforcement Sub-directorate at the Metro Jaya Regional Police, on Monday (22/6/2026). The incident occurred at around 5.10 a.m. Western Indonesian Time this morning. The bus struck the left side of the separator, resulting in a traffic accident. “As a result of the accident, the Mayasari bus vehicle sustained damage,” he explained. Meanwhile, the bus driver, identified by the initials DA (34), was injured in the incident. The victim suffered injuries to the forehead and temple area. “The driver sustained injuries and was subsequently taken to Tebet Hospital for treatment,” he said. Previously, a TransJakarta bus was involved in an accident, crashing into a busway separator at the Cikoko bus stop on Jalan MT Haryono, East Jakarta. TransJakarta confirmed there were no passengers at the time of the incident. “We can confirm there were no customers on the bus when the incident occurred. The bus hit the concrete separator while en route to its service starting point,” said Ayu Wardhani, Head of the Public Relations and CSR Department at TransJakarta, in a statement. “Evacuation was completed by 8.20 a.m. and services at Cikoko bus stop and Tebet Eco Park bus stop have returned to normal operation serving customers,” Ayu clarified.
