The name of YouTuber Muhammad Jannah, alias Bigmo, has once again come under public scrutiny after he allegedly involved minors in the promotion of vape liquid products during a live broadcast on his YouTube channel. A clip of the video subsequently went viral on social media, triggering a wave of criticism from various quarters.

The controversy has not only impacted Bigmo’s image as a content creator but has also had lengthy repercussions. These range from losing a partnership with a brand, being reported to the Metro Jaya Police, to undergoing questioning by investigators. The case has also attracted the attention of the House of Representatives (DPR), the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemenkomdigi), academics, and child protection activists.

The case began when Bigmo conducted a live broadcast on YouTube with fellow content creator Melvin Erio. In the footage, several children were seen at the location alongside a number of adults. During the conversation, someone was heard asking about the ‘number one liquid’. Bigmo then responded by repeating the question. Shortly afterwards, several children at the location simultaneously mentioned the name of a vape liquid brand.

The moment was later clipped into a short video and spread widely across various social media platforms. The snippet sparked controversy as many parties believed the children were allegedly directed to name a vape product brand intended exclusively for adults. To date, there has been no official statement confirming whether the mention of the brand was part of a promotional partnership or occurred spontaneously during the live stream. However, the alleged involvement of children in vape promotion immediately became a matter of public concern.

The video first gained traction after content creator Sadam Permana posted a critique via social media. In his view, the alleged involvement of children in promoting a product labelled for ages 21 and above cannot be considered a trivial matter. Sadam stated that he has been actively providing education to students about the dangers of vape use. Consequently, he urged the authorities to give serious attention to the alleged violation.
