Jakarta, VIVA – National Police Public Relations Division Head Inspector General Jhonny Edison Isir revealed the chronology behind how the now-inactive Bima City Police Chief, Adjunct Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Didik Putra Kuncoro, became embroiled in a drug possession case.

The two-star general explained that AKBP Didik’s involvement in the drug case began with the arrest of two household assistants belonging to a police officer.

“This disclosure began with the arrest of two household assistants of the suspects — a police officer identified as Brigadier First Class (Bripka) IR and his wife, identified as AN. A total of 30.415 grams of methamphetamine-type narcotics were found as evidence at the private residence of Bripka IR and AN,” Jhonny explained at National Police Headquarters on Sunday, 15 February 2026.

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate then conducted an interrogation of the suspects, which uncovered the involvement of Adjunct Commissioner of Police (AKP) ML in the distribution of the seized methamphetamine.

“Subsequently, the Internal Affairs Sub-division of the NTB Regional Police conducted a urine test on AKP ML at the Bima Regency General Hospital, which returned positive results for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” Jhonny stated.

The team then carried out inspections of AKP ML’s office and official residence, where evidence was discovered in the form of five packets of methamphetamine with a net weight of 488.496 grams.

“Based on statements from AKP ML, it emerged that AKBP DPK was involved in the suspected narcotics abuse. Consequently, on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, the Internal Affairs Bureau of the National Police Professional and Security Division, together with the Narcotics Crime Directorate of the Criminal Investigation Agency, conducted a search of AKBP DPK’s private residence in the Tangerang area,” he affirmed.

During the search, a quantity of evidence was discovered, comprising seven plastic clip bags of methamphetamine with a total weight of 16.3 grams, 50 ecstasy tablets, 19 Alprazolam pills, two Happy Five pills, and five grams of ketamine.

For his actions, AKBP DPK has been named a suspect and charged under Article 609 paragraph 2 letter A of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments, as well as Article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropic Substances.

The charges carry a maximum penalty of life imprisonment or up to 20 years’ imprisonment and/or a maximum fine of category 6, valued at up to two billion rupiah, as well as a maximum of five years’ imprisonment and/or a maximum fine of category 4, amounting to 200 million rupiah.
