Chronology of PPDS Doctor Found Dead in Bushes Near Riau Hospital

A doctor undergoing a specialist residency programme at the Tengku Rafian Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Siak, Riau, was found dead in a bushy area adjacent to the hospital. The victim, identified by the initials AKL, was a 30-year-old participant in the Anaesthesiology Specialist Doctor Education Programme (PPDS) and originally hailed from East Seram Regency, Maluku Province.

The body was discovered on Tuesday, 15 July 2026, at around 11:30 AM WIB in a thicket beside the hospital located in Kampung Dalam, Siak District. The incident began on Monday afternoon, 13 July 2026, when the victim’s wife, YM, tried to contact her husband via mobile phone but found his device was inactive.

Growing concerned, the wife searched for AKL around the RSUD Tengku Rafian complex but could not find him. She then checked the hospital’s CCTV footage with the help of security personnel. The recordings showed the victim walking alone and leaving the hospital grounds through the exit near Security Post II. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the doctor’s death.
