Chronology of Naked Woman in Lumajang Killed by Boyfriend

A woman with the initials MTA (22), a resident of Kalipenggung Village, Randuagung, Lumajang, East Java, was brutally murdered by her boyfriend, RA (18). Her body was found without clothing. The victim’s body was first discovered on Saturday evening (4/7) lying on her back, naked and covered in blood on her bed. The discovery stemmed from a suspicious phone call from the perpetrator, who suddenly asked a neighbour to check on MTA’s condition, claiming he was worried because her phone could not be reached. Police, who sensed something odd about the alibi, immediately conducted an intensive digital investigation. The perpetrator was arrested at his residence less than 24 hours later. The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Lumajang Police, AKP Ari Aulia, stated that the perpetrator launched a series of attacks to ensure the victim could not call for help. The perpetrator allegedly used a blunt object and a pair of jeans found at the scene to execute the victim. ‘The victim was hit with a piece of wood by the perpetrator, her mouth was gagged, and her neck was strangled with the victim’s own jeans,’ AKP Ari explained. After the victim died, the perpetrator deliberately removed all of her clothing. This was allegedly done to fabricate a situation as if a rape had been committed by an unknown person. The perpetrator pretended to be anxious and called a neighbour to check on his girlfriend, whom he claimed he could not reach. A family member of the victim, Diana, said, ‘The neighbour who found her said they received a call from the victim’s boyfriend to check on her condition because he couldn’t reach her by phone. When they checked, she was already dead, lying naked in her room.’ Police became suspicious and conducted an investigation, eventually arresting RA at his home. The motive for the murder was revealed to be heartbreak following an argument. The perpetrator attacked the victim with a piece of wood, gagged her mouth with cloth, and then ended his girlfriend’s life by strangling her with a pair of jeans. RA is now charged under Article 458 of the Criminal Code on murder, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
