Chronology of Man Stealing Money from Elderly Nasi Uduk Seller in Bekasi
A man was recorded stealing money belonging to an elderly nasi uduk vendor in Pondok Melati, Bekasi, West Java. The suspect had posed as a customer to carry out the theft.
Bekasi City Metropolitan Police public relations head AKP Suparyono said the incident occurred on Tuesday (17/2/2026). At the time, the suspect pretended to purchase four packets of nasi uduk.
“The incident began when the suspect pretended to buy four packets of nasi uduk at the victim’s stall,” Suparyono said in a written statement on Thursday (19/2/2026).
The victim was said to have been preparing the suspect’s order. Suparyono explained that this was when the suspect made his move to steal the victim’s takings.
“Without the victim’s knowledge, the suspect entered the stall, pretended to open the rice container, and then checked the tin containing the victim’s sales earnings,” he said.
The suspect then took Rp 700,000 from the tin. By the time the victim went to hand over the order, the suspect had already fled with the money.
“After successfully taking the money, the suspect immediately fled. When the victim went to deliver the order, the suspect was already gone, and the sales earnings stored in the tin had also disappeared,” he said.
