Chronology of High School Student Killed After Motorbike Hit by Duri-Tangerang KRL
A student with the initials DK (16) was struck by a KRL train on the Duri-Tangerang route while riding his motorbike. The victim died as a result of the incident.
The accident occurred on Jalan Semanan Tembok Bolong, southbound, near the Semanan Tembok Bolong railway crossing in Kalideres, West Jakarta, on Thursday (20/8/2026) at 06.30 WIB.
The victim is believed to have been travelling from north to south on Jalan Semanan Tembok Bolong. Upon approaching the crossing, the victim was hit by a KRL train travelling from east to west.
From photographs received by detikcom, the victim was lying at the side of the tracks covered with a cloth. Residents appeared to be observing the victim from behind a fence.
“The initial report came in for the Kalideres area, that a schoolchild had been struck at Kalideres Station,” said Cengkareng Police Chief AKP Rahis Fadhillah.
The victim suffered severe head injuries. The victim died at the scene.
The motorbike ridden by the victim was also severely damaged. The victim’s body was subsequently evacuated to hospital.
Previously, KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan stated that the incident occurred at an unofficial crossing. The accident temporarily disrupted Duri-Tangerang KRL services.
“This incident also caused damage to the front of the KRL train,” said Leza.
