Chronology of Banyumas Man Murdering Grandmother and Lover with Hammer
A man with the initials A alias D (24) murdered his grandmother, K (81), in Patikraja Village, Patikraja District, Banyumas, Central Java. The suspect then killed his lover, AA (18), after she discovered the grandmother’s body lying in the house.
The first murder occurred on Thursday (11/6) at around 7.30 p.m. local time. The perpetrator struck the victim with a hammer until she fell, then strangled her with raffia string until she died. After ensuring the victim was dead, the suspect cleaned up the bloodstains at the scene and took the victim’s money and mobile phone.
He then contacted AA, his mistress, and they met in the Baturraden area before heading to the grandmother’s house. During a press conference at the Banyumas Police headquarters, Police Chief Commissioner Petrus Silalahi explained that the suspect is married with two children and is the grandson of victim K, as well as the lover of AA. He killed both victims using a hammer.
“The first victim executed was K, on Thursday (11/6) at around 7 p.m. local time, using a hammer. The victim was killed after performing the Isya prayer,” Petrus told reporters. After the murder, the suspect covered his grandmother’s face with a prayer mat and left her at the prayer location. He then went out to meet his lover, AA, in Pabuwaran Village, North Purwokerto District.
The pair spent time hanging out in the Baturraden area, where the suspect conceived the idea of seizing AA’s assets and invited her to stay overnight at his parents’ house, which was actually his grandmother’s house. At around 2 a.m., the suspect invited AA to have sexual intercourse in the grandmother’s bedroom. Afterwards, they sat on chairs in front of the television in the family room.
“At that moment, AA asked whose house this was, and the suspect answered that it belonged to his parents. Not long after, AA saw the feet of the first victim lying in the prayer room and insisted on asking who the person lying there was,” Petrus stated. Panicked that his crime had been discovered, the suspect quickly sought a way to eliminate AA. He took a hammer and brutally killed her, recording the act on his mobile phone.
