Chronology of Australian National Attacking Security Guard in North Kuta

Police have revealed the chronology of an incident involving an Australian national who attacked security officers at a motel in Kerobutan Kelod, North Kuta, Badung. The shirtless foreign man repeatedly struck the security guard because he felt it was unfair that he was being removed from the bar area.

“The foreign national became emotional because only he was being removed, while the foreign national he was initially arguing with remained inside. This prompted him to return and attack the officer, even attempting to force his way in to find his opponent,” said Badung Police Public Relations Officer, Ipda Ni Nyoman Yuni Eltari, when confirmed on Monday (5/10/2026).

The disturbance reached its peak when the shirtless man attempted to breach the bar by jumping over the wall of the nightlife venue. His actions were intercepted by a security guard in a white shirt, which resulted in the man being struck.

Upon seeing their colleague hit, several other security guards intervened and retaliated to prevent the violence from escalating. The physical altercation eventually subsided after the Australian man’s companions dragged him away from the location towards the west.

“The foreign national immediately struck the security guard, leading other officers to use excessive force against the man. They were concerned about disturbing other patrons. Afterwards, the man’s friends took him away from the scene,” Yuni explained.

Yuni noted that no formal report has been filed with the police yet, either by the motel management or the victim of the assault. “We continue to urge the victims of the violence to report the incident immediately so that the legal process can proceed,” said Yuni.

Video of the fight has gone viral on social media. Based on the footage, a shirtless foreign man is seen running towards the bar entrance and attacking a local man in a white shirt.

Three other foreign nationals in black t-shirts attempted to intervene. However, another man in a white shirt also joined in striking the shirtless man before the perpetrator was eventually pulled away by his companions.

Investigations revealed that the fight occurred on Thursday (1/10/2026) at approximately 11:12 WITA. The altercation began between fellow foreign nationals inside the bar area, but the chaos spread when security guards attempted to separate the parties and remove those involved from the bar.
