Chronology: Australian Hells Angels Drug Boss Arrested as He Attempted to Fly on Private Jet

Australian Hells Angels drug cartel boss Angelo Pandeli has been arrested in Bali. The Interpol fugitive was detained just as he was about to take off in a private jet. The arrest of Angelo Pandeli took place on Saturday, 6 June 2026. He was apprehended after triggering an Interpol Blue Notice hit with a 100 per cent match score. The Director of Narcotics Crime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri), Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, confirmed the arrest when asked for confirmation. Angelo was caught as he was about to travel from Bali to Mozambique using a CAPA Jet private aircraft with flight number N917CJ on the Denpasar (WADD)-Maputo (FQMA), Mozambique route, via the South VIP Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. ‘Based on the results of the immigration inspection, it was found that George Anderson Mota Correia was suspected of using travel documents that did not belong to him. The results of further investigation revealed his true identity as Angelo Pandeli, an Australian citizen holding a Venezuelan passport (suspected to be fake),’ said Brigadier General Eko Hadi when confirming the incident on Thursday, 11 June 2026. The incident began on Saturday, 6 June, at 22.00 WITA, when the Examination Section II of the Ngurah Rai Special Immigration Office conducted departure immigration inspections on passengers of the private aircraft CAPA JET, flight number N917CJ, using a GLF5 aircraft on the Denpasar (WADD)-Maputo (FQMA), Mozambique route, at the South Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. Based on the general declaration submitted by the flight operator, it was known that the aircraft carried 3 crew members (stay on board), namely Capt Jagat Singh Yadav (India), Capt Cristiano Rosa (Italy), and F/A Svetlana Isaeva (Russia), as well as 4 other foreign national passengers. During the travel document inspection, verification of residence permits, and identity matching with the passengers concerned, no issues were found with the other 3 foreign national passengers. Their travel documents, identities, and immigration permits matched the data recorded in the immigration system. However, the examining officer then discovered irregularities concerning a Brazilian national named George Anderson Mota Correia. Based on the immigration system check, no entry crossing data or residence permit could be found to justify the individual’s presence in Indonesian territory, raising doubts about his immigration status. ‘Knowing of these irregularities, the examining officer immediately reported his findings at the earliest opportunity to the South Terminal Supervisor to obtain further instructions and direction,’ said Brigadier General Eko Hadi. In short, the officers then decided that George Anderson Mota Correia’s departure should be postponed for further investigation, while the departure inspection process for the other three passengers could proceed in accordance with applicable regulations. ‘Based on the results of the immigration inspection, it was found that George Anderson Mota Correia was suspected of using travel documents that did not belong to him. The results of further investigation revealed his true identity as Angelo Pandeli, an Australian citizen holding a Venezuelan passport (suspected to be fake), who triggered an Interpol Blue Notice hit with a 100 per cent match score,’ he said. Following these findings, Examination Section II took action to postpone the departure, coordinated with the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Division and Bareskrim Polri, and carried out the handover of travel documents via an official handover report to support the further investigation and law enforcement process. The Directorate of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim Polri then dispatched a team to secure the individual. ‘Currently, we, together with the Class I Special Ngurah Rai Immigration Office in Bali, are coordinating with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to carry out the deportation of Angelo Pandeli to Australia,’ he stated. Angelo Pandeli is an influential transnational organised crime figure and an important member of the outlaw Hells Angels motorcycle gang in Australia. He is believed to be responsible for a significant number of past and ongoing commercial-scale border-controlled drug importations into Australia. He was last seen on 9 October 2025 in Manly, Australia, taking consistent actions to evade law enforcement. The AFP believed he was attempting to leave Australia covertly, heading for Cambodia or Vietnam. Information indicated that he may hold fraudulently obtained Venezuelan or St Kitts and Nevis passports. The AFP also believed he was most likely to attempt to flee Australia by sea.
