Chrisye wins 'MTV' Asia Viewer's Choice award
JAKARTA (JP): Chrisye won the Asia Viewer's Choice award on
Thursday at the MTV Asia's MTV Video Music Awards 1998 for his
latest hit song, Kala Cinta Menggoda (Time When Love Disturbs).
Viewers with satellite dishes and the installed MTV Asia
channel can enjoy the announcement of winners at the awards show
on Saturday at midday. Reruns will be aired on Sept. 13, 11 a.m.,
and Sept. 19 and Sept. 25 at 10 p.m.
For viewers who do not have satellite dishes, the show will be
aired on local TV station ANteve on Sept. 20 at 10 p.m. The show
features winners Aerosmith, Madonna, Will Smith and Natalie
Imbruglia.
In a written statement sent to The Jakarta Post, MTV Asia
marketing manager Daniel Tumiwa noted that Chrisye has put
Indonesia on both regional and international maps with his win.
Chrisye's interview with MTV Wow VJ Sara Sechan will be aired
by ANteve on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29 at 4:30 p.m.
Madonna swept off with six awards, including best video of the
year, female video and special effects in a video, with
