Choice to open hotel in Yogyakarta

JAKARTA (JP): Choice Hotels Indonesia announced that its first
"comfort-branded" hotel, the Sejahtera Comfort Suites, will have
its soft opening in Yogyakarta at the end of December.

Executive Chairman of Choice Hotels Indonesia David Schaefer
said that the Sejahtera Comfort Suites Yogyakarta will join the
existing network of its five Clarion and Quality branded hotels.

"We forecast adding five more hotels to our network, bringing
our total to 13 hotels with over 2,200 rooms in 1997 and two more
hotels in 1998," Schaefer said in a statement yesterday.

The Sejahtera Comfort Suites Yogyakarta has 72 two-bedroom
suites, 48 three-bedroom suites and 10 penthouses equipped with
satellite TV, smoke detectors, kitchenette facilities and
international direct-dial facilities.

He said that a further management agreement has been signed
with PT Sejahtera Garden for the development of another 410-unit
property in Surabaya, East Java.

Choice Hotels Indonesia is the master franchiser in Indonesia
for the Choice Hotels International chain which currently manages
3,400 hotels in 38 countries.(04)
