Chocolatos enters partnership with BK8 Gresini Racing
PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk, through its food and beverage brand Chocolatos, has entered into a partnership with BK8 Gresini Racing to bring the Indonesian brand to the global stage via MotoGP for two seasons, namely 2026 and 2027.
Garudafood Commercial Director Fransiskus Johny Soegiarto explained that this partnership is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen brand equity while expanding its market from domestic to global. “We want to step further onto the global stage alongside BK8 Gresini Racing because both share that common goal,” he stated during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.
He further explained that Chocolatos is no longer solely reliant on its wafer stick products, but has expanded its portfolio to include beverages, snacks, and chocolate products featuring premium segments and various flavours. This development is intended to strengthen the brand equity of Chocolates, which is already widely recognised in Indonesia. The partnership with the Italian-based racing team is expected to help introduce the brand to consumers in international markets, particularly in Asia and Europe.
Fransiskus noted that the collaboration between Chocolatos and BK8 Gresini Racing has been in place since February 2026 and covers the 2026 and 2027 MotoGP seasons. The partnership carries the spirit of “uplift your mood, level up your journey,” reflecting the belief that every stage of a journey contains moments to be enjoyed before moving to the next.
Garudafood Brand Equity Director Niken Esti added that the collaboration with Gresini is a step for Chocolatos to expand brand relevance, particularly among male consumers and a broader demographic. “Chocolatos aims to be a chocolate brand that is consumable and relevant to all groups, while bringing a local brand story to the global stage,” she said.
Chocolatos previously employed a brand development strategy through a collaboration with the South Korean boy band BTS to reach younger consumers. Meanwhile, she added, the partnership with Gresini Racing is aimed at expanding reach to sports fans, particularly in motorsport.
Niken noted that the character of Gresini Racing, an Italian team, aligns with the identity of Chocolatos, which carries an Italian nuance through its tagline “Mamamia Lezatos” and its Italian chocolate taste concept. Despite the Italian theme, Garudafood emphasised that Chocolatos remains an Indonesian product. This identity is also displayed on its packaging through messages of pride in Indonesian-made products.
She expressed hope that the two-season MotoGP partnership would serve as a long-term investment for the company in building brand equity, expanding its audience, and increasing the recognition of Indonesian products in the global market.
