CHINT Relies on Modular Systems to Accelerate AI Infrastructure
SINGAPORE — Reliable electricity infrastructure is a major challenge amid the surge in artificial intelligence (AI) data-centre construction across the Asia-Pacific region, including Indonesia. To address this, electrical solutions provider CHINT has introduced an innovative modular power system called Power Pod at Data Centre World Asia 2026 in Singapore.
Indonesia’s data-centre industry has grown significantly in recent years. The World Bank estimates that the country’s operational data-centre capacity will reach 456 megawatts (MW) by the end of 2025, while the government is targeting an increase to 2,000 MW by 2029. As the sector expands, construction speed and electricity availability are decisive factors in ensuring large-scale computing facilities are ready to operate.
Paul Lee, CHINT’s Asia-Pacific Strategic Segment Director, said electricity supply had become the biggest challenge in building AI infrastructure. Data-centre operators, he said, need ready-to-use power systems so they do not have to spend time integrating layers of separate components at project sites.
