Chinese Tycoon Enters IKN, Makes Unexpected Admission

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Nusantara Capital City (IKN) has welcomed a new investor. Chinese foreign investment company PT Star Bright International Investment has officially commenced construction of an integrated development project worth Rp1.25 trillion in Sub WP 1B of the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN.

President Director of PT Star Bright International Investment, Lu Keming, has finally spoken out. He revealed the reason behind his decision to invest in IKN.

“With the support of Mr Basuki (Head of OIKN), we are carrying out this project with a total investment of around Rp1.2 trillion. Our target is to complete this apartment project within just over a year and have it ready for use,” he said.

Beyond apartments, Lu Keming disclosed that his company will also build other projects in IKN, such as hotels and tourism development.

“Going forward, we will also build a hotel in this area. My teacher has come this time to review the hotel plans and other related matters, including tourism development,” he revealed.

He recounted that IKN is similar to China. Both were once ordinary areas that could grow rapidly and attract investors.

“For many years I have witnessed China’s development since the 1980s and 1990s, which was once like Nusantara. Three years ago it was still empty land, then in a short time it transformed into rows of tall buildings. In less than 40 years, through reform and openness, China has developed rapidly and so beautifully,” he said.

Lu Keming is very fond of IKN. He predicts that IKN will become bustling and turn into Indonesia’s beautiful city of the future.

“That is why I really like IKN and I believe this land will continue to develop and be very good, very extraordinary, and become one of the most beautiful cities in the world,” he said.
