Chinese PMA Breaks Ground on Rp1.25 Trillion Integrated Development in Nusantara
NUSANTARA – Foreign investment company (PMA) PT Star Bright International Investment from China officially commenced construction of a Rp1.25 trillion integrated development project in Sub WP 1B of the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN on Wednesday (15/07/2026), marking a significant milestone in the realisation of investment in Nusantara Capital City (IKN). This project is the first construction to be realised by a foreign PMA company in IKN and is targeted for completion by the end of 2026. PT Star Bright International Investment is a company engaged in international-scale investment, property development, and project management. For its IKN project, the company is collaborating with Zhongda Jiancheng Engineering Management Group Co., Ltd., a Sichuan-based Chinese firm with over two decades of experience in construction project management. Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, stated that the project’s location is strategic as it lies at the heart of the Nusantara government district. “This location is very special. From here, we can see the State Palace and the judicial and legislative complexes currently under construction. All these areas will be completed by 2028,” Basuki said. The project, situated on a 15,501-square-metre plot, will deliver an integrated area comprising apartments, restaurants, retail spaces, and offices. The residential units will offer one- to three-bedroom options with family rooms, supported by facilities such as a swimming pool, fitness centre, commercial areas, and green open spaces. The entire development is designed with a sustainable development concept aligned with IKN’s building principles. PT Star Bright International Investment’s President Director, Lu Keming, expressed optimism about Nusantara’s future as a new city with great prospects. “I have experience witnessing city development from an empty starting point. I am confident Nusantara will become a beautiful city because it is being built from scratch. Our team from China is also interested in investing in the hospitality and tourism sectors,” Lu Keming said. Beyond bringing in foreign investment, the project also involves a contractor from East Kalimantan as part of a commitment to empower local businesses and drive regional economic growth. The event was also attended by PT Dian Jaya Indonesia, a South Korean foreign investment company that will develop an apartment and hotel project in the WP KIPP Sub WP 1B area. The presence of investors who have entered the realisation phase demonstrates growing international business confidence in IKN’s development. The activity was also attended by prospective investors and business delegations from China representing various companies and organisations, including Wan Tong Group, China Minsheng Bank, Jiangsu Qi He Technology, Jiangsu Shu Jun Technology, Beijing Jin Jia Tong Neng Environmental Technology Group, Shanghai San Ding Technology, Hainan Chamber of Commerce, Indonesia’s Chinese Bridge Training School, Xing Yao International Investment, and Liu Dian Group. The presence of these delegations reflects the high interest of international investors in opportunities in Nusantara while strengthening IKN’s position as an increasingly trusted investment destination for the global business community.
