A total of 537,181 vehicles left the Greater Jakarta area (Jabotabek) during the period from H-4 to H-2 of the 2026 Chinese New Year holiday. Hundreds of thousands of vehicles departed from Greater Jakarta heading towards Merak, Puncak, as well as towards Java and Bandung.

Jasa Marga President Director Rivan Achmad Purwantono said the hundreds of thousands of vehicles left Greater Jakarta through four main toll gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (towards Merak), GT Ciawi (towards Puncak), GT Cikampek Utama (towards Trans Java), and GT Kalihurip Utama (towards Bandung).

The breakdown of traffic flow distribution leaving Jabotabek was as follows: 255,591 vehicles (47.6%) headed eastward (Trans Java and Bandung), 152,393 vehicles (28.4%) headed westward (Merak), and 129,197 vehicles (24.0%) headed southward (Puncak).

The detailed traffic distribution was as follows:

Eastbound (Trans Java and Bandung)

A total of 119,532 vehicles left Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. This figure represented an increase of 31.37% from normal traffic levels.

Meanwhile, 136,059 vehicles left Jabotabek heading towards Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama on the Cipularang Toll Road, up 26.40% from normal traffic. The total traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java and Bandung through both toll gates was 255,591 vehicles, an increase of 28.68% from normal traffic levels.

Westbound (Merak)

Traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Merak via GT Cikupa on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road totalled 152,393 vehicles, up 4.23% from normal traffic.

Southbound (Puncak)

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek towards Puncak via GT Ciawi on the Jagorawi Toll Road was 129,197 vehicles, up 8.68% from normal traffic.

Jasa Marga also recorded that on H-2 of the 2026 Chinese New Year holiday, vehicle traffic leaving Jabotabek at the four main toll gates continued to increase, with 158,246 vehicles recorded, representing an 18.41% rise from normal traffic levels.

Jasa Marga further noted an increase in vehicle flow towards Trans Java and Bandung via GT Cikampek Utama, with 34,049 vehicles representing a 26.99% increase from normal traffic, and via GT Kalihurip Utama, with 41,587 vehicles representing a 36.77% increase from normal traffic.

“We urge the public to plan their journeys carefully, avoid peak congestion times and bottleneck points, and make use of the latest real-time traffic information we provide, including through the Travoy application,” said Rivan.
