Jakarta — A one-way traffic management system has been implemented on Jalan Raya Puncak, Bogor, West Java, during the extended Chinese New Year holiday. The one-way system applies from the Jakarta direction towards Puncak.

"Due to the increase in traffic flow, with more than 2,000 vehicles recorded exiting the Ciawi Toll at 09:00 Western Indonesian Time this morning, we decided to implement traffic management measures such as one-way flow heading uphill, or from Jakarta towards Puncak," said KBO Satlantas Polres Bogor Iptu Ardian Novianto on Monday (16/2/2026).

Prior to the implementation of the one-way system, an odd-even number plate policy had already been in effect. Once the one-way system was activated, the odd-even policy was suspended.

"This is an update on the traffic situation at the Gadog Junction, particularly in the Puncak tourist area, and on the movement of vehicles heading to the Puncak tourist area this morning," he explained.

He noted that the number of vehicles heading towards Puncak this morning had decreased compared to the previous Sunday. The vehicle volume recorded up to this morning stood at 6,200 units.

"Compared with data from Sunday, today being Monday there has been a decrease of approximately fewer than 200 vehicles. Up to 09:00 Western Indonesian Time today, Monday, the figure had reached 6,200, whereas at the same time on Sunday it reached 6,400 vehicles," he elaborated.

Nevertheless, extended weekend holidays frequently see heavy congestion. As such, authorities remain on standby to monitor traffic flow.

"We from the National Police will always be on the ground to help facilitate traffic flow, to assist members of the public who wish to travel, whether for tourism or journeys to their respective homes or for their daily routines. We wish to continue providing the best possible service to the public, particularly on the roads," he concluded.
