A one-way traffic management system has been implemented on the Puncak Highway in Bogor, West Java, during the extended Chinese New Year 2026 holiday. The one-way system applies to traffic heading from Jakarta towards Puncak Bogor.

Head of the Bogor Police Traffic Unit, Inspector Ardian Novianto, said that increased traffic flow had been occurring since Monday morning (16 February). By 09:00 Western Indonesian Time, the number of vehicles from the Ciawi Toll exit had already exceeded 2,000.

“Therefore, we decided to implement traffic management measures such as one-way flow in the uphill direction, from Jakarta towards Puncak,” Ardian said on Monday.

Before the one-way system was implemented, an odd-even number plate policy had already been applied. However, once the one-way system came into effect, the odd-even policy was temporarily suspended.

Ardian also provided an update on the situation at Gadog Junction and the Puncak tourist area, which are the primary destinations for visitors in the morning.

The number of vehicles heading towards Puncak on Monday morning was recorded at 6,200. According to Ardian, this represented a decline compared to Sunday (15 February), which saw 6,400 vehicles.

“Compared with data from Sunday, today, Monday, there has been a decrease in traffic flow of approximately fewer than 200 vehicles,” Ardian said.

However, traffic congestion remains a challenge during the extended weekend holiday. As such, police continue to remain on standby monitoring traffic flow.

Ardian said his team would always be on the ground to help facilitate smooth traffic flow for members of the public wishing to travel, whether for tourism or journeys to their respective homes.

“We want to continue providing the best service to the public, particularly on the highways,” Ardian said.

Meanwhile, in DKI Jakarta, the odd-even number plate system has been suspended for the two-day Chinese New Year holiday, namely 16–17 February 2026.

This was announced through the official Instagram account of the Traffic Management Centre (TMC) of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (@tmcpoldametro) on Sunday evening (15 February).

“Fellow road users, in connection with Chinese New Year 2577 Kongzili, the odd-even system in DKI Jakarta WILL NOT BE ENFORCED,” the Jakarta Metropolitan Police TMC wrote.

The policy refers to DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 88 of 2019, Article 3, Paragraph (3), as well as the Joint Ministerial Decree of Three Ministers on Changes to National Holidays and Collective Leave for 2025.
