Chinese New Year: Driving Licence and Vehicle Registration Services Suspended
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate has suspended driving licence (SIM) and vehicle registration certificate (STNK) services today due to the national holiday for the celebration of Chinese New Year 2577 Kongzili.
Services will resume on Wednesday (18/2). "Driving licence issuance services will reopen on Thursday," wrote the official @TMCPoldaMetro account on X (Twitter) on Tuesday.
From 16-17 February, services at the Daan Mogot Satpas, DKI Jakarta Satpas Unit, DKI Jakarta SIM Counter outlets, and the Mobile SIM Unit have been suspended.
The announcement also applies to STNK services, which have likewise been suspended for the Chinese New Year celebrations. "Thursday 18 February 2026, service hours will return to normal," the account wrote.
Holders of driving licences expiring on 16-17 February 2026 may carry out their renewal through the standard extension mechanism.
