Chinese New Year 2026: Dharma Bakti Temple in West Jakarta Implements Rotation Entry System
Jakarta, VIVA – A rotation entry system has been implemented by the management of Dharma Bakti Temple in Tamansari, West Jakarta, for the 2026 Chinese New Year celebrations. The measure was taken as the number of visitors to the place of worship was predicted to reach thousands.
One of the temple’s administrators, Kong Tet Sen, said the temple was operating non-stop to serve worshippers on a rotational basis.
“If you count them, it could be thousands, because it’s not just one visit — it’s been a tradition passed down through generations. We open 24 hours during Chinese New Year for everyone to pray,” he said at the location on Tuesday, 17 February 2026.
He explained that in preparation for Chinese New Year, the temple had been carrying out daily rituals to clean the statues, ensuring that all worship facilities were ready for use in celebrating the occasion.
Meanwhile, for today’s operations, the temple management limited visiting hours until 7pm and implemented a rotation entry system to ensure the comfort of worshippers, given the limited capacity of the premises.
“Yes, until seven in the evening — just for today. On normal days, it’s only until five. Because upstairs, if it gets too full, it can’t accommodate everyone, so people have to wait and enter in stages,” he said.
Regarding the celebration of Chinese New Year 2577 Kongzili, he called on everyone to celebrate Chinese New Year 2026 with peace and tranquillity.
