Chinese National Deported from Bali for Working Illegally as Project Supervisor
A Chinese national, identified only as JZ, has been expelled and deported from Bali. The 29-year-old foreign man was found to have breached immigration rules by working illegally as a project supervisor on the Island of the Gods.
The Head of the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office for TPI, R Haryo Sakti, revealed that the activity was not in accordance with the terms of the Visa on Arrival (VoA) or visit stay permit held by JZ whilst in Bali. Haryo stressed that the deportation formed part of the Immigration Office’s efforts to enforce the rules against foreign nationals committing immigration violations in Bali.
“That administrative immigration action was carried out on the basis of Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration,” said Haryo in his statement on Tuesday (8/9/2026).
Haryo explained that JZ was deported through I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport on Monday (7/9). According to him, officers from the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section of the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office escorted the deportation process to ensure the entire departure procedure ran in accordance with regulations.
JZ departed on flights with the codes MU7406 and MU5323 at 18.15 WITA (Central Indonesia Time). The foreign man subsequently left Bali on the Denpasar–Shanghai Changsha route.
Haryo reminded every foreign national in Indonesia that they are obliged to comply with all applicable laws. “Supervision and enforcement of immigration violations will continue to be carried out firmly, measurably, and in accordance with the prevailing legislation,” he concluded.
The Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Ramdhani, commended the deportation carried out by the Denpasar Immigration Office. He stressed that any violation committed by a foreign national will be dealt with according to the law.
“This is part of the commitment to maintaining security and public order in Bali, whilst at the same time providing legal certainty for the community,” said Ramdhani.
