Central Java continues to strengthen its position as a preferred investment destination. As of the first semester of 2026, capital from Chinese entrepreneurs was recorded at approximately Rp4.55 trillion.

Overall, investment realisation in Central Java during the same period reached Rp59.94 trillion. These investments originate from various sources and have contributed to driving labour absorption across several sectors.

The Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, stated that openness and collaboration among various groups are key strengths in developing the regional economy. He shared these remarks while attending the Mid-Autumn Festival Gala Dinner organised by the Chinese Community of Central Java in Semarang.

According to Luthfi, Central Java must serve as a shared space for people from various backgrounds to thrive while building economic cooperation. He noted that the total investment of Rp59.94 trillion consists of Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) of Rp25.92 trillion, Domestic Investment (PMDN) of Rp22.62 trillion, and investment from micro and small enterprises (UMK) amounting to Rp11.40 trillion.

The impact of this investment realisation is evident in employment rates. By the first semester of 202lar, 213,217 workers were absorbed through 55,989 investment projects.

Luthfi assessed that these achievements demonstrate the significant economic opportunities available in Central Java for investors and business actors. He emphasised that the province’s attractiveness to investors and the potential for economic cooperation are growing.

During the event, Luthiv also noted that the Mid-Autumn Festival serves not only as a cultural event but also as a space to strengthen social ties and build networks among business players. Such gatherings are seen as opportunities to open new avenues for cooperation and strengthen the business ecosystem in Central Java.

He remarked that the government, the business community, and the public all play interconnected roles in maintaining economic growth. Stronger collaboration is expected to expand investment while creating more job opportunities.

With investment realisation approaching Rp60 trillion in the first six months of 2026, the provincial government is encouraging that the benefits of investment extend beyond the scale of incoming capital. The impact on the regional economy and the capacity of investment to create jobs remain vital priorities to ensure economic growth is felt broadly by the community.
