Chinese Hospitality Technology Company Announces Expansion into Indonesia
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Chinese hospitality technology company, Elong Hotel Technology, is expanding into Indonesia, driven by the growth of the tourism industry and the increasing need for digitalisation in hotel operations. This expansion comes amid a trend of rising hotel occupancy rates and an increase in the number of accommodations nationwide over the past two years.
The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) recorded that the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia reached 1.41 million in December 2025, an increase of 14.43 per cent compared to the previous year. The national occupancy rate of star-rated hotels was also recorded at 56.12 per cent during the same period.
The national hospitality industry also shows an upward trend. BPS data shows that the number of hotels and accommodations in Indonesia reached 34,702 units in 2025, an increase of 11 per cent compared to the previous year, and the highest level in recent years.
Elong Hotel Technology’s expansion was marked by an event titled “Go Indonesia, Win Together” held in Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026). This move is a continuation of the company’s global strategy after entering the Thai and Malaysian markets through the “Eco-Going Global” approach.
CEO of Elong Hotel Technology, Xi Dandan, said that global expansion is the next step after the company recorded growth in international markets. “After growing rapidly in overseas markets, we want to expand the reach of the Elong Hotel Technology ecosystem globally,” said Xi Dandan in a press release, Saturday (16/5/2026).
The launch event in Jakarta was attended by industry players, investors, business partners, and media from Indonesia and China.
The company also showcased a number of smart hotel solutions, ranging from service robots, AI-based operational systems, to modular prefabricated construction technology, which is claimed to be able to accelerate hotel construction while reducing operational costs.
As an initial implementation in Indonesia, the company presented the performance of Elong Hotel Jakarta PIK as a pilot hotel. In 2025, the hotel recorded an occupancy rate of 93 per cent with a RevPAR exceeding IDR 1.3 million, reflecting high demand in the Pantai Indah Kapuk area, which is developing as a new lifestyle and business centre in Jakarta.
To address the challenges of the hospitality industry’s supply chain, Elong Hotel Technology has built an overseas warehouse in the Southeast Asia region with the support of Zhiyi Technology. The digital supply chain platform was formed from the merger of Tongyi Technology and Lvzhi Technology in July 2025.
Zhiyi provides integrated services ranging from cross-border procurement, local warehousing, distribution of hotel room needs, to international property management systems.
